Introduction

We are a group of students of IES Sant Quirze (Paula De Boni, Andrea Matalonga and Francesco Tedesco). We needed to prepare a project for our RP (Research Project) and we has the idea to prove that the growth of a plant can respond to emotional stimuli.

Our goal in this experiment is to demonstrate that that feelings have an influence on the growth of the plants we are going to care for.

Out hypothesis is that positive emotions, such as compliments, will have a positive effect on the growth of our plants.

For this experiment, we have decided to choose two differents plants to do a comparison once we finish, Spearmint and Rhododendra (Azaleas). Each one of us is going to care for five plants of each type. We are going to keep all of the plants in the same place and follow a strict watering schedule to be sure that any difference in their growth is not caused by other factors, such as temperature, sunlight or humidity.

We are going to use five different types of emotional stimuli: music with heavier

Method

To prove our experiment, every day we have to take care of our plants: We take the plants that listen to stronger music at the same time as the plants that receive the insults and put on their' music while we insult the other two. Then, we do the same with the ones that listen to softer music and the ones that receive compliments. Then, we take a picture to track the plant's growth.
